The Espada Large knife is a luxury everyday-use knife. The Espada product range was designed by renowned knife maker Andrew Demko and Cold Steel president Lynn C. Thompson. The Espada knife is inspired by legendary and feared conquest swords, Espada. The knife blade is made from CPM-S5VN steel. This exceptional American steel is not only very hard and durable, but can achieve outstanding blade sharpness and the blade then has a long service life. A very fine-grained powder steel with uniform microstructure offers very stable properties. It is durable even with a very fine blade bevel, reliable and highly corrosion-resistant. It is a good choice for high-quality custom knives and tools. The CPM process (pseudo-powder metallurgy) guarantees a very homogeneous, high-quality steel structure, dimensional stability, good sharpening properties and strength compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Despite lower chromium content, this steel exhibits very good corrosion resistance results. The handle of the Espada™ knives is made from polished aluminium and is complemented by a blade of G-10 glass fibre. The handle is strongly curved and is equipped with finger grooves for a secure and safe grip when using the knife. The entire Espada knife range is equipped with the unique Cold Steel® Tri-Ad Lock™ patent. The lock prevents accidental or unintentional closure of the knife even after natural wear over time.
