The Fenix CL28R is a multifunctional rechargeable lantern with an integrated power bank. It works excellently as a rechargeable work light, light for photographers and as a light for the home, tent or car. A high-brightness COB LED provides a light output of up to 2000 lumens (ANSI), the intensity of which can be continuously adjusted with a rotary control. Continuous adjustment is also available for colour temperature setting, which can be changed in the range 2700 - 6000 K. The CL28R is powered by a built-in Li-ion rechargeable battery with a total capacity of 10000 mAh, which charges directly in the lantern via a USB-C connector. There are also two discharge USB-C and USB-A ports, so the light can be used as a power bank with support for fast-charging protocols PD3.0/PD2.0, QC3.0/QC2.0 with an output of 18W. In addition to continuously adjustable white light, the fixture also offers two red light modes - steady light output of 9 lumens and a strobe with the same output of 9 lumens.

Thanks to its durable and impact-resistant construction with IP66 rating, the light withstands adverse weather conditions and a drop from a height of 1.5 metres. Wide mounting options for the light are provided by a handle that rotates 360°, which contains built-in magnets and also features a tripod thread.

All parameters of the fixture (light output, battery runtime, water resistance, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Use of the Fenix CL28R rechargeable lantern

To turn on in white light mode, rotate control A clockwise. This allows you to continuously adjust the light output from lowest to highest. To reduce the output, rotate control A anticlockwise. To turn off the white light, rotate control A anticlockwise until it clicks in the end position.

To change the colour temperature of the light on the lit lantern, turn control B clockwise. The shade of light will change from warmest to coldest. When rotating in the opposite direction, it does the opposite.

Press and hold the orange button on the off light to turn it on in red light mode. Short presses of the orange button switch between steady red light and strobe. Press and hold the button to turn off the red light again. Red light mode cannot be activated while white light is on; you must first turn off the white light using rotary control A. If you want to switch from red light mode to white light mode, simply turn on the white light by rotating control A clockwise.

Battery capacity indication - when the lantern is off, a short press of the orange button activates four status LEDs on the front of the lantern. The number of lit LEDs indicates the approximate charge level of the battery (20-40%, 40-60%, 60-80%, more than 80%). When the battery is discharged below 20% capacity, the last status LED will start to flash.

Charging the Fenix CL28R lantern

To charge the light, flip open the rubber cover of the USB connectors. Connect it using the supplied USB cable to a computer, mains USB adapter or car USB adapter. A standard mobile phone charger with a USB-C connector can also be used for charging. During charging, the status LEDs flash from left to right; when fully charged, they all light up continuously. After charging is complete, ensure that the rubber connector cover is carefully closed to prevent dirt from entering.

The battery does not suffer from memory effect, so it can be charged at any time and there is no need to wait for it to be fully discharged. Charging a completely discharged lantern takes approximately 4 hours (depending on the power of the charging source used).

The light can be used while charging.

To power external USB devices (power bank function), connect the cable to the USB-C or USB-A connector (both cannot be used simultaneously). The status LEDs will then flash from right to left. As soon as the battery voltage drops too low (below 2.9V), the power bank function will stop. The light can be used while charging other devices.

• If the light flashes, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not turn on, the battery is discharged - charge it.
