The rechargeable head torch Fenix HM75R Topaz is specially adapted for the Czech and Slovak market and compared to the standard Fenix HM75R head torch has several changes and improvements:

• The head torch has an additional combined mode in which the distance and wide reflector light up at the same time.
• Inside the head torch is the latest 18650 rechargeable battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh instead of 3400 mAh in the standard version.
• The package does not include an external battery and extension USB cable, which makes the standalone head torch cheaper. If needed, both can be purchased separately.
• The distance reflector uses an LED with a warmer neutral shade (approx. 4500 K) instead of a cold one.
• The wide reflector uses LEDs with a warm shade (approx. 3000 K) and a high colour rendering index CRI 94.5 (Colour Rendering Index).
• Red light is activated by double-clicking the button directly from the off state.
• The lowest red light mode has been reduced to 2 lumens and conversely the flashing has been increased to 10 lumens and has an increased frequency for more effective warning function.

The performance parameters have been preserved, the maximum output of the distance reflector and combined mode is 1600 lumens, red light has an output of up to 120 lumens. The distance reflector with the top LED Luminus SST-40 creates a well-focused light beam with a beam distance of up to 223 metres and the second reflector with powerful LED Luminus SST-20 has a very wide and smooth light pattern with a beam distance of 68 metres. Switching between distance, wide and combined mode is done with a rotary selector on the side of the head torch.

The head torch is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion 18650 4000 mAh battery, but you can also purchase a removable rear battery case with a 21700 5000 mAh rechargeable battery to significantly extend the runtime. The head torch can also be operated without a battery inside, powered only by a power bank via USB-C cable (with slightly reduced maximum output). The head torch is made of lightweight and durable magnesium alloy, its construction is fully dust and waterproof according to the IP68 standard and also impact-resistant to drops from a height of 2 metres.

The HM75R Topaz head torch is suitable for anyone who wants a powerful and reliable partner in extreme conditions thanks to its excellent performance and runtime parameters. It will serve well for work such as rescue workers, but also for athletes, mountaineers, repairers, tourists and other outdoor enthusiasts. A pleasant bonus is the very powerful red light.

All head torch parameters (light output, battery runtime, waterproofing, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Specifications for Fenix HM75R Topaz head torch

• The light source in the distance reflector is a white LED Luminus SST-40 with neutral shade, the source in the wide reflector is two Luminus SST-20 with warm light shade and high CRI and further a red LED OSRAM GR QSSPA1.23 is available. All with a lifespan of 50,000 hrs of operation.

Use of HM75R Topaz head torch

From the factory there may be an insulation cover on the rechargeable battery. Remove it before first use.

The head torch is switched on and off with the rotary selector on the right side. In the first position the head torch is off, turning to the second position switches it on to distance reflector mode, turning to the third position switches it on to wide reflector mode and turning to the fourth position switches on the distance and wide reflector at the same time. When off, the head torch is switched on to the last used red light mode by double-clicking the button. Holding the button switches the red light off again.

Power modes of any reflector are cyclically switched by pressing the button on the side of the rotary selector.

Memory of the last set power mode - The head torch has memory and always switches on in the last set power mode of the selected reflector, except for the highest modes of the distance and wide reflector, instead it switches on in the second highest mode of that reflector.

Intelligent power reduction - The head torch has a built-in protection circuit. When the reflector is brought close to an illuminated object (less than 60 mm) for longer than 1.5 s, it automatically reduces the output to low mode to prevent damage to the object from strong light and glare from reflected light. When the reflector is more than 0.8 s away from the illuminated object, the head torch automatically restores the previously used power level. Switching the intelligent proximity sensor on/off - On the off head torch, press the side button for 6 seconds. Switching on the function is indicated by the head torch with two flashes in low mode. Switching off the function is indicated by the head torch with eight flashes in low mode.

Intelligent overheat protection - When using the head torch for extended periods at high power modes, a large amount of heat accumulates. When the head torch reaches a temperature of 60 °C or higher, it automatically reduces the output by several lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60 °C, the output gradually increases again.

Low battery warning in the head torch - If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the head torch automatically switches to a lower mode until it reaches the lowest power mode. After reaching the lowest output, the battery charge status indicator begins to flash to remind you to recharge or replace the battery.

Charging the head torch - Remove the dust cover and plug the USB-C charging cable into the charging port of the head torch. After charging is complete, replace the dust cover. During the charging process, four indicators on the top of the head torch gradually light up and flash. Four continuously lit indicators mean charging is complete. The normal charging time is 4 hours with a 5 V/2.5 A USB source for a completely discharged head torch.
Note: During charging with a 9 V USB source, you can use the head torch in all modes. The maximum output of the distance reflector will be limited to 1200 lumens and the wide reflector to 700 lumens. During charging with a 5 V USB source, you can only use the head torch in the two lowest modes of any reflector. The head torch flashes several times when first switched on after connecting the USB source, indicating the charging voltage used. Two flashes indicate charging at 5 V and four flashes indicate charging at 9 V. When powered from a USB source, you can use the head torch even without a battery inside. Only charge original Fenix ARB-L18 rechargeable batteries in the head torch.

Battery charge status indication in the head torch - After a short press of either button (head torch must be off), the LED battery charge status indicator on the top of the head torch activates. Four lit LEDs mean the battery is charged to 80-100%, three lit 60-80%, two 40-60%, one 20-40% and one flashing means the battery is charged to less than 20%.

Battery replacement - Unscrew the head torch cover and insert the battery with the positive pole facing into the head torch. Then fully tighten the head torch cover again.

• Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, this will void the warranty.
• Use only quality Li-ion rechargeable batteries or disposable CR123A batteries for power.
• If the head torch flashes, does not switch to higher power modes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
  • Batteries are almost discharged – replace them or charge the rechargeable battery.
  • Contacts are dirty – clean them with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol.
