The rechargeable torch Fenix PD40R V3.0 offers excellent light output of up to 3000 lumens and a beam distance of up to 500 metres. The torch features six different lighting modes that are easily switched using a rotating ring on the torch head. The package includes a rechargeable 21700 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh, which charges directly in the torch via a modern USB-C connector. On the lowest mode it can shine for up to 89 hours, which is almost 4 days of continuous operation. It also features strobe flashes and SOS signalling for emergency situations.

The torch is equipped with a battery charge status indicator next to the charging connector. The PD40R V3.0 impresses not only with its compact dimensions, but also with excellent light output and long beam distance. The torch is particularly suitable for movement in difficult terrain, search operations, rescue work, everyday carry and general household use.

All torch parameters (light output, battery runtime, water resistance, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Use

The torch may have an insulating cover on the battery inside from the factory; remove it before first use.

To turn on, rotate the control ring to the right. Mode changes are made by rotating the control ring (rotate right to increase power, left to decrease). The strobe is at the far right position, and SOS is one position before it. Turn off the torch by rotating the ring to the far left position.

Intelligent overheat protection – if the torch temperature rises above 60 °C, it will automatically reduce power in gradual steps; once the torch temperature drops below 60 °C, maximum power can be used again.

Battery charge status indicator – each time the torch is turned on, the indicator LED next to the charging connector activates for three seconds. If the indicator LED glows green, the battery is charged to more than 85%. Green flashing means 50–85% capacity. If it glows red, it is charged to 25–50%. Red flashing indicates that less than 25% battery capacity remains.

Charging – flip open the rubber cover of the charging connector on the side of the torch and connect the supplied cable (USB-C connector); connect the other end of the cable to a computer, mains USB adapter or car USB adapter. During charging, the indicator next to the charging connector glows red. When fully charged, it glows green. Charging a fully discharged battery takes approximately 3 hours (with a 2A power supply). During charging, the torch can be used in 30 and 350 lumen modes.

Low battery warning – the torch will gradually automatically switch to the lowest mode and the indicator LED on the side will begin flashing red.

Warning

• Do not disassemble sealed parts in the torch head yourself, as this will void the warranty.
• If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these guidelines, the torch will be properly protected against water.
• If the torch flashes, does not switch to higher power modes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
  • The battery is discharged; charge it.
  • The contacts inside the torch are dirty – clean them with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol.
  • The rear of the torch is loose; tighten it.
