Husky Flame 1 from the Extreme range is a free-standing double-wall tent with an external aluminium frame, a 7,000 mm H₂O water column and snow skirts. It is made for climbers, ski tourers and cycle tourists who go into the mountains alone and need a dependable four-season shelter.

A narrow solo profile and snow skirts

A width of 120 cm and a height of 100 cm give the tent the smallest possible surface for the wind to push against — exactly what counts on a ridge or at altitude. The 8.5 mm aluminium poles are threaded from the outside, so the tent goes up as a single unit and the bedroom stays dry even when you pitch it in the rain. Snow skirts around the perimeter can be weighed down with snow or stones where pegs cannot be used.

Ripstop polyester with a 7,000 mm water column

The 210T ripstop polyester flysheet has a polyurethane coating with a 7,000 mm H₂O water column and taped seams; the ripstop grid stops any tear before it spreads. The breathable 190T nylon inner tent with mosquito mesh carries moisture and condensation away, and the 190T polyester groundsheet with a PU coating has an 11,000 mm H₂O water column.

Pros and cons of the Husky Flame 1

✓ Pros: a four-season solo tent with a high 7,000 mm water column, snow skirts, a narrow profile with minimal wind resistance, pitching from the outside without soaking the bedroom, a proven design.

✗ Cons: the 100 cm height does not let you sit upright, a weight of 2.7 kg is higher for a one-person tent than on ultralight models, one entrance, and room for only one person.

How it compares with related models

Husky Flame 2 is the two-person version, 0.7 kg heavier. Husky Sawaj 1 from the Ultralight range weighs only 1.28 kg, but is not built for winter. Husky Falcon 2 offers two entrances and room for two.

Who is the Husky Flame 1 for?

For solo climbers, ski tourers and winter trekkers who need a dependable four-season tent with a small profile. If you mostly go out in summer and count every gram, choose the ultralight Sawaj 1.
